Have dealt with both countries, i believe it depends on which country that brand originates from.

sometimes i buy from EBay at good price too... but avoid big items & beware of tax

cables like Chord, QED and also Nordost, i bought from UK before ....
Amps, drivers, Subs from the US ...

USA, definetely. The US Dollar isn't really worth the paper it's written on right now, so things should be cheaper than just about anywhere else.
