Based on reports since last nite at 1am,this morning at 6am and today from 5pm to 7pm.
We have been spammed badly causing a DoS (Denial of Service).
Records indicate that someone initiated this malicious attack with intent by spamming the forum with an agent a couple of million times.
Hence causing the overall bandwidth to be clogged up and jammed.
Sadly, we trace the IP that have initiated this attack, and it originates in Malaysia citing tm.net.my as the service provider.
I believe IP belongs to Klang Valley 218.xxx.xxx.xxx (Do not want to publish full IP until further confirmation).
Countermeasure : For the time being, this IP and other suspicious IP has been ban permanently.
We tried to restart the forum again but it failed prompting to call the technical Call Center to discon the server and reconnect it back.
It seems that whoever this person is, this individual is no beginner or novice in IT field, seems more like an advance IT person.
Judging from his attack and his attempt to hide behind an agent, before we are able to trace his IP.
We look on the positive side, our bandwidth is so big that they have to spam it with millions of reloads on the main http url.
Our forum isnt easy to be hacked into where all our details could be hijacked, erase and basically anyone with that access could turn this site into a porn site, which of course i dont mind.
Hence the only way is to to spam it into DoS, much apologies that there isnt much we can do to stop this, because with all the proxy and firewall in place, the individual increased its spam by millions.
My own instinct tells me that person is having a real big bandwidth to this kind of attack, but so does we, hence our system was not permanently disabled totally, and it try to recover and reboot.
Thank you for your patience today and much apologies for those whom we have caused inconvenience.
We will monitor the situation and appreaciate that please post up here if any abnormalities is detected, i believe the attack is not over and could be repeated.
Now the main question, who would wanna do this? This is no hacker, this is a person with a malicious intent to down the forum but have not achieve its results. The rest i leave to your imagination.... lol .... :D
