Typical lifespan for a car speaker

just wondering what's the lifespan of an ICE speaker before it kaputs?

2 years and i think it would show signs of deterioration ... *cabutz ...

kekeke... but sometimes it is due to external factors such as sunlight, heat, moisture ...

As long as the speaker is installed properly away from water and UV etc.. it will last a long time.

Else it will get spoilt very fast. My old speakers at 3 years still sounded good with no roblems with the VC, glue, cone etc

Yes. I agree with Bert. Once the drive is installed properly and driven correctly, it should last a long time. Some examples are my previous Alpine F17C, which I used for more than 5 years without any problem. Same goes for Sifu Vega F17A which is used up till today!!

Always depends on application.
If you would like to do hair tricks with your speaker, well its hard to go 6 months.

If you like moderate and SQ application, would say 4-7 years before speaker spider and surround start weakening.

If you would like to make your speaker as a decoration, i.e. put put it in storeroom, bookshelf, paperweight well I guess longer.
