Well... i'm not too sure whether Egg crate foam did wonders, but i have it in my install. Unfortunately, i did it along with the RAAMmat-ting of my front doors. Of course, there is difference before and after the install, but i did it together... so... not too sure if the egg crate brings any wonders but the before and after sound of deadening + egg crate is fuller sounding(after of coz) than before.

And i didn't use any moisture barrier on my egg crates, they don't seem to give me any problem, even after nearly half a year, they didn't grow any fungus.

I used to have egg crate foam in my ride install. Not anymore though.

But when I previously used it, I place the egg crate foam, cut to 1 egg(recessed) panel, behind my Scanspeak 2904/6000  to function as a back wave reflector. Seems to give slight improvement to the highs.

I think anyone can try this in a dry enviroment of the ride. As I had my tweeters in the A-pillars, it was O.K.

Had tried putting 1" thick egg crate foam in the door behind my mids. Yeah, there's difference but don't like it, as though my mids are having some serious asthma.  /63. But it could be too thick, maybe, I dunno.
