Focal K2P Improved vs Utopia-BE No.6

Hello,

Has anyone compared the Focal 165 K2P Improved against the Utopia-BE No.6. May I know the improvements the Utopia-BE No.6 has over the K2P to justify the huge hike in pricing?

World of diff and night and day meaning? Is the Utopia-BE suitable for all types of music including rock and alternative. I'm apprehensive to get higher end speakers as they frequently struggle or too sterile unless you're playing acoustics and audiophile slow mo recordings.

Unfortunately, I did not get to hear the Focal BE with rock music. But with the classical music at demo, the soundstaging and the dynamics was incredible. I have no reservation if it could rock, with the kind of dynamics and transient heard it definitely rocks!

The main problem I could see with anyone thinking about the BEs is this, are you other equipments on the front good enough for it? i.e.  amps and HU

The BEs are not very forgiving to poor front end equipment and will take no prisoners. It will show all your equipment strenghts and weaknesses easily.

I do not think the ability to play big classical music is an indication that the BEs can play all types of music well. Guess I'll have to make a trip to KL to audition. Which shop stocks these speakers?

the only shop i know is in sgp ... as for the tweets that i audition, it was a personal unit before i sold it .. :D

i vote k2p if youre after good bass, for rock & r&b songs...or even the older utopia is also good in bass & vocals, the new one seems kinda lightweight ...but must remember good installation more important to bring the bass out of the mids...
