Burn in -  errrmm... i do feel like going against this statement ... especially in TUBES!!

Some call it run-in and some call it break-in.  Run-in makes some difference but not a whole lot and it seems like high-end components do take much longer to season.

Run/break/burn-in is a must for speakers... makes the cone nice and soft...

I did work as a design engineering in company making High End audio Video and speaker last time, we make oem like Outlaw, Krell and stuff. All of the product need to undergo Burn in process for at least 1000 hrs, this to make sure the product work. For speakers the run in is to make resin/adhesive free off from the panels and to check the cone stiffness.

Make it sound better ? ha ha Anechoic Chamber test is applioed
