Author Topic: Need HELP!! Buzz noise on left tweeter (Read 1263 times)

hi there all ICE sifu...need ur help
I have buzz noise only from the left tweeter and it follows the RPM.it almost undetected wen the engine idle but still it’s there.
So far, wat Ive done is.
1.   Remove the left RCA jack from the HU = no noise
2.   Swap the left RCA to right from the HU = noise go to right tweeter
3.   Swap the rca port and speaker cable at the 4ch amp (tweeter to mid and mid to tweeter) = prob still there.
4.   Use other RCA cable = prob still there

Could it be it came from the HU?
My system:
HU: HXD2
Tweeter: Scanspeak 7000
AMP: Helix A4
RCA: VDH with switchcraft plugs
Btw, how to ground the RCA?

I guess your left channel ground have lost its contact either at the rca connector or joint at pcb of your HU. Btw, how old is your HU?

Im not so sure how old as I bought it from other forumer

any suggestion wat to do?Im somewhere that there is no reputable car audio shop nearby.

Gotlah bro....at Bundusan Square, Jalan Bundusan got Clarion Authorized Service Center.....let me check the shops name later...they can fix ur HU in no time....

Most likely it's ur hu RCA loose.

follows Car rpm? sounds like engine whine. or does it follow volume?

these diagnostic u have to get it right first.

thanx, will try to diagnose first.
btw, the whine doesnt follow volume.
for the time being, I've minimized all the gain to reduce the noise.

ts have u tried swapping with a different rca cable? borrow one from a fren and try first

if everything else fail, try to squeeze the nip of the tweeter... and keep squeezing a little harder when by the time goes...ha ha just kidding

yes I did...Ive tried using other RCA edy...prob still there.

I've tried squeezing the nip of the tweeter but too sharp...very hard to squeeze.no experience how to squeez

anyhow, seems like the prob is the HU.Ive tried changing the grounding placement till I connect direct to battry but still no hope...all left signal have noise (high,mid and low)

I've tried using the mid's RCA for the tweeter also got noise.so not RCA prob...as for the mids, the buzzing noise is nearly imposible to hear as it is in a higher pitch noise.so the tweeter produce it efficiently la...
for a short resolution to this prob, I hve to lower the gain to min.later I still need to send this HU for repair...myb together with an upgrade?

Try swap with other HU, if possible. Your HX-D2 left channel might share common signal ground internally, could be bad/open contact at the pcb or something else inside the HU. I don't think is grounding placement, since it only affect only your left channel. I guess sending your HU for repair may be your only option, taking into account all your troubleshooting attempts.
