honda civic fd - extreme bad noise insulation. Rear deck noisy
Camry(current model) - too big and wide. bigger the car the more difficult to get the right sound
Bmw e90/e46 - extreme shallow mount drivers needed. There's no high end drivers for slim mount
Bmw e60- shallow drivers only. Rear deck is completely close off from the cabin. Diff for sub to travel to the front.

Insulation, we can always add additional insulation / dampening material; thus the parameter/criteria more towards geometric for the internal space of the car. I know if we talking about this factor, Toyota Alpard is one of the best; but for the purpose we limit to mid to full size sedan, small SUV or MPV.

Anybody else ? How about for installer point of view, ease of installation ? Reduce signal path ?

I agree with bafukie.
Honda city soundstage is better than that of Honda civic. Perhaps it has a better platform.
So new set system can be tuned more easily in Honda city.

toyota vios... first generation before facelift...

pros...
1. easy installations... depth, space and position works well with me...
2. meter board at the center, 3 way system can be installed more easily as there is more space on the dash...

cons...
1. well not really rigid... sounddamping/soundproofing/etc etc works will be needed...
2. kinda a personal view... i like my HU below... like wira's position than higher like the vios/city position... reason is... i scared thief cases(got into once, never want it again)... down there i could cover them up with something, which i do everytime...

my 2dollar worth...  /77

ewtan,
true!! ur cefiro upgraded noise insulation(after many stages) is even better than Merc E and C class including the merc current models.
engine noise was hardly noticeable
nice..

New Vios? Meter`s at the centre.... A Pillars are quite wide ,which doesn`t have any obstruction on its way though... Quite large boot... Even can put a relatively sub box at the rear passanger seat floor which is flat all the way. (if you`re not planning to fetch more than 1 ppl with your car)  /62

Only 2 thing doesn`t good about this car... Only....

First, which is the sound insulation...  The engine, when it revs up to 3200. Noise came in. The road noise (on highway tarmac/concrete) (which can be extra insulated)  Wind`s drag noise is acceptable when on 110km/h.

Secondly, rear suspension is a bong.... (Need to change) Which is an big factor to us which will probably fit an big sub woofer box and dazzling gadgets of our precious amp, eq or maybe 2nd battery at the boot...

When you load up 2 adults at the back passanger seat... Nightmare comes... If you`re driving on the road seeing a new Vios fetching 3 adults or whatever which fits all the space at the back passanger seat... DON`T LAUGH your ass off!  /66

no worry, used to drive vios. I know how and what it feels.
BTW cefiro seems to be a good choice; as cefiro used to be known to be low NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness); The engine seems very stable. There was a marketing cliche during the 90's that engineer used to mount half filled wine glass stick it to the engine of cefiro and drove the cefiro up to 90 km/h an found out that the glass still consist water. I do not know wether this is true or not since this is a cliche I heard way back ago. Probably some of you ever heard about it. By the way, since now cefiro marque being replace by Teana, I do not know whether those nissan designers & engineers still carry this low NVH feats into the new teana. I read the review that this Teana is very calm, gentle & comfortable, very statement like. Teana might be a better full size sedan platform for ICE.
