Topic: HU Recommendations......

hi all...i planning to upgrade my old HU...considering the alpine 9855 and the pioneer p80rs...i have test both of the HU and still cant decide...
i like the 9855 faceplate n design but comes to SQ i feel the p80 slightly better (tats wat i personally feel...no offence to anyone  )

therefore i hope if i can get some guidelines here...pls help..thx...

p/s: i posted these in the MCH forum b4, in case there are some forumers here not from MCH.... thx to grex,nick and spetnaz opinions previously..

I have heard both also. But I like the sound of 9855 more. Can get a shop to let you test both in your car ?

Well, i would sacrifice looks for SQ...If you have tested both HU and feel that the SQ of the Pioneer, then go ahead with Pioneer...

i have tried to audit both in shop b4...but both using diff amp n comp set...so is quite hard to justify which sounds better when install in my car... hmmm

To be sure, go to a shop that carry both. Bargain and agree on the price first. Tell them you will buy either one of them after testing. Give deposit if necessary. Choose the one that sounds better in your car. You should be happy....No more excuses......

Actually, it depends very much on your objective. If you are looking for SQ, why bother with looks? If possible I want all HU to comes with full blackout. Afterall, we want to hear not to see....

I have listened to the 9855 before. Felt its the same as 9835... Somehow I felt the 9835 is better... Just my 2sens.
