Just curious, how much weight did you increase on your ride?

think not much weight... it would be less than a person's average weight... a bit heavy for a better sound deadening...

- Premium car sound system rebuilt to Audio Creations Standards -

Our veteran icer Ku Ahmisuhairi had been indulging his audio senses for some years now. Unbelievably, even with branded toys from well known manufacturers, he never really got what he wanted with his mix of new & old gears...
We gathered this because he never shouts much about it, and so we owe it to him to hear it for ourselves. Due to logistics, we never had the chance to listen earlier because the car was some 5-6hours away. Well, it is about time we did.

The car and sound system required plenty of attention and work. Needless to say, it was like we were trying to achieve the analogy of turning an ugly maid to a pretty princess, one that is beautiful and had plenty of youthful charisma. We did not want an old approach nor a punk/la-la approach. What we wanted was class and darn right good sounding. The feeling, emotions and sensations that are attributable to past experience needed to be upgraded. We needed to feel and be in the music, rather than observe it from a distance.

Upon receiving the car and listening to it, it would seem that it was appropriate for us to help Ahmi strike the secret in cultivating the vintage vibe that is hidden beneath his system. Vintage means the sense of originality and a powerful tone.

It is hard to put into words what this means, but essentially it is that feeling of bone crunching depth that penetrates your skin and grabs a hold of your gut. This is a must if you really want to enjoy music. It has to be life sounding to you and you must be in it.

This was our goal and upon completion, we are proud to say we are almost there. The system was transformed. It is now big sounding as opposed to small sounding when we first got our hands on it.

In the lead range of tones, the harmonics were superbly defined and sustain was brutal. If you're not sure what sustain means, wiki it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustain)

Before the transformation,  we could not differentiate the attack and decay. Sustain was never a thing to mention. Now it becomes a new vocab because you have it and others don't.

Vocals are now richer, which makes the singer more real to us and harmonics are also richer, giving us a better perception on types of instruments and the energy that the artiste gives to it while being played.

Ahmi's system now has a thick midrange - we believe it has to be thick so that you can gain up and achieve a beautiful, almost limitless sustain without losing clarity  in the midrange. This in turn makes the music sound fuller without sounding "fat". It sounds smoother, more satisfying, and somehow very musical. Other people simply sacrifice this just for the sake of clarity. Midrange becomes thin and lifeless to that effect.

Midbass and lows reproduction is very good. Hours were spent on the doors because the car is old and panels could not take the vibration. It had to be solved nevertheless.

Without good midbass and lows, the subwoofer can never merge seamlessly.

With the work done on midbass, low and sub-lows, percussions has a lot of weight. Instruments are not fragile and thin that it used to be.

We played our favorite, Chie Ayado and to our delight it sounds analog as if it has the vintage feeling to it. This simply means it sounded original and real, more than just convincing.

The system now can crank out super volumes and tones - so much so that we hope to hear Ahmi say more frequently now that, "I love my (this) system!"

Our resident krayden had a chance to listen to it as well, perhaps he can fill in some of his observations.

Testimonial:
"it is good..cabin filled with sound. everything else is as it should be... nice!"
Krayden, senior ICER

Thanks Victor...

Even my wife love it... She said there is no more outside noise, feels like driving a Camry [so I dont have to switch car afetr this]. When she drove the car yesterday, she managed to pin point where is the vocal, the precussions, cymbals etc... hehehehe... Now she does not complaining when I cranked up the volume compared to my previous listening volume level.   /78 /78 /78

Arezum, thanks

The amps are with me for quite some time now... they look nice as Victor cleaned it...

Before undergo the installation, I was not very pleased it... although I got the hardwares but they should sound better... I have no choice, I have to install it by a reputable installer, not a sloppy, unskilled DIY like me... Luckily Victor offered himself to fetch the car... My year 1997 car traveled near 500km for it...  /78 /78 /78

Installation and tuning play a crucial part in order to have a good sounding system... (now I know...  /24 /24 /24)

Now even my wife enjoys driving...
