HU recommendation for Budget of 1.5K and BELOW!
« on: August 16, 2010, 02:51:13 PM »
Hi Sifu, guys and gurls,

Need some advise for NOOB SQ ICE wannabe player with limited budget...

Need to know which HU is worth the money to invest on now, for SQ and if possible, I would want it to have USB/iPod/iPhone support too with minimal extra price :P

Please state and advise me which HU and the pros and cons of it. Would appreciate newbies like me to comment as well cause I believe that the process of learning from experiences is very important too!

Thank you!
Happy ICE-ing!!!

P/S: I know some of the Sifus here saw my post in some other forums and gave me advise, so don't bash me cause I wanna make my every cent well worth spending... still poor mah :D /53
Cheers!

Haha! Interesting!
PM you de!
Thanks!

Anyway, time for silly questions....
Would like to know why people choose between Alpine and Pioneer? Like there are FAN CLUBS for both of them! LOL
I heard Pioneer P80RSII got 3 pre-out? and Alpine 9887 got 3 also right? So both of them can play like 3 way systems right? So means they have similar EQ and SQ settings right? correct me if i'm wrong

As for 9855, it has like 6 preouts?!?! Serious?!?!? What can i do with it then? Does it have the functions like TA and EQ/ES like 9887 and P80RSII?

Thanks.

3 pairs of pre-out is the same as 6 preout. don't confuse yourself. :-)

well... the fan club thingy...

question is, which of these is your concern?
1. durability
2. cosmetics
3. sound quality(some people dun hear the difference, some swear by God they do)
4. optional add-ons(processors, ipod interface etc etc... )

for myself,
1. durability = pioneer
2. cosmetics = pioneer except for 9990, 7990R and 7998R...
3. sound quality(some people dun hear the difference, some swear by God they do) = alpine
4. optional add-ons(processors etc etc... ) = alpine because of H701, 990 processor which intergrates with the HU seamlessly, user friendly to me as well, not so for my friends...

hope tht answers your question...

cheers mate...

Different price also! Hahah!
That's why it's very hard to choose.

Let's say, if narrow it down to P80RSII + iPod cable and 9887 + iPod cable, which one is a more favourite selection?
I'm trying to narrow it down to less choices so I can short list them.

Just don't want to make the wrong choice as I seldom change things :p and I use it for a very looooong time
