Supra Ply 3.4 and 3.4S Loudspeaker cables...
« on: November 25, 2006, 12:41:49 AM »
As per topic. Iam interested to know more about this cable and the pricing. I read in the "other" forum(kenot say out later, Ken ban kau me /152) that some forummers in here is using them. Iam reviewing this cable as part of my final upgrade...  /70 together with a HU. Danke.. Danke!

I have read thru some of the reviews and some of the comments in the "other" forum. Sounds very good.

My questions

1) How would you rate them?
2) How much/metre?
3) Availability?
4) Iam pairing it with Supra Dual RCA(Iam running 9835,B4,B2 Tri amping passive), any comments?

Thanks again guys!  O0

Bro Saw,

Yes, even one of the reviews I read seems to give it very high rating. But that would be in a home environment. I wonder how it works in a variable environment.

The dual Iam currently using suprises me! It sounded even better than my 401. Very good tonal and its not that fast and not that slow, the timing is just correct. But I find it kinda neutral.. Hehe... It feels somehow like those Vifas..  /152

BTW, what you think of the Dual you used to run?

Bro,

IMHO.. The Duals are one of the best budget interconnects I have used. Runs the Audioquest Sidewinder pretty close and costs half the retail. Musical and clean sounding. I would strongly recommend the Supra PPX RA plugs. Looks absolutely fab and much nicer than the Audioquest equivalent.

Well... i was actually refering to the pre x02 series, somehow, i always felt they sound muffled, as if the singer was singing thru a face mask, or worst, a hankerchief :P :D

The Monsters have no problems with dynamic and probably sound good if you've not hear other interconnects but IMHO they're a wee bit too much with the treble and bass. Real opposite to the cleaness of the Supras for example. Makes for good hi-fi dynamics though  /152

Incidently how much does the Ply cost per metre? I would also recommend the Nordost Flatline, equivalent AQs or VDHs..

Grexer,

Yes, the pre 402 are pretty muffled.. Dynamic wise, they dont have the problems...

Bro Saw,

Regarding the price, I have no idea. But Iam just collecting information for future references... I have checked in MYCH, the price is not cheap. Its about 100 odd/m and about 50odd/m to 60odd/m, thats from Vodka posting. Outside retail no idea. Probably can get them prices from Amcorp Mall.

If it's that expensive I would not recommend it unless your HU/amp /speaker combo has high enough resolution which I doubt ICE will have. Especially the HU. The money would be better spent there.
