What is wrong?
« on: June 29, 2010, 01:42:34 AM »
Dear sifus in the house,

I am having this power cut off at the amp and it's really annoying. I am driving a stock Perodua Viva, my setup are :

Pioneer 6500 HU, Helix Esprit comp speaker & Soundstream 2.260 Lil Wonder amp (2 channel).

When I on my system, the power kick in (got sound at the comp) and everything work as per normal. But sometimes when in the mid of driving, the amp just went cut off. Sometimes even worst, when I start my car, the power come and the amp cut straight away (within split second). But one thing really cracking my head, the failure rate during hot daytime is at 80%, while at night driving the failure rate is at 5% - 10% only.

I have tested the amp in my friend's car for 3 days. The amp never fail him.

Could fuse be the culprit? I mean the big fuse connecting the power cable to supply current to the amp. Does engine bay temperature contribute to this issue? Anyone experiencing similar issue?

Pls help  /92 ....

check your fuse holder (the one after your battery). The inline round ones have a tendency to get loose. If that's not it then must be your HU.

Noted, will have it checked. How does the HU affect the amp?

Haha good question. It was an educated guess, seeing as there's nothing wrong with your amp and there's nothing else in your system.

check ur speaker cables...if it touches ur car metal parts, it can switch off ur amp.look at the connection at the speaker itself.sometimes it touches the door pannel when the speaker or car vibrates.have u tried rising the vol?try this wen ur car is idle.rise the vol.blast it if needed  /62.if it off then myb my theory correct  /62

Thanks guy for the feedback. It took mths to rectify the issue. The problem is actually beneath the Soundstream Lil Wonder II amp. Board grounding issue. After added an extra ground wire to the amp chasis, now no problem. MCH!  /86
