fuse question..
« on: November 22, 2006, 11:38:30 PM »
if i have a battery fuse block at lets say 150A, goes to my fused distribution block split into 2 outlet , each of the outlet another 100A.. one outlet for my comp amp lets say rating about 60A fuse on the amp and another outlet for my sub amp 80A fuse on the amp..

my question here is, can i use the 100A at the distribution block as mentioned in the situation above?
what are the consequences?

need some sifu to help me on this thingie, kinda confused..

the fuses at the fuseblock not very useful, since the amp fuse will blow first, so defeats the purpose of putting a fuse before the amp.  best to get same fuse rating as amp on the dist. block..

what is the point u put 150A on the battery fuse block ? does your battery capable to supply 150A? I suggest u change it to be the total ampere of your ice....

his total is 80+60 = 140A, so 150A is close enuff, i guess its ok since got another 2 more fuse just before the amp.  not easy to find 140A fuse lor...

is there any advantage or disadvantage of putting higher / lower rating of fuses in the distribution block and battery fused block?

dist block fuse higher than amp's fuse = no protection to amp's fuse
dist block fuse lower than amp's fuse = protect too early, if possible get same rating for both.
battery fuse block = total of dist block fuses
