Dear all, as you know recently i have received two focals from local accs shop at low price, owner doesn't know it's real or fake but the person who sold him this insisted these are real. It were put in my selling thread for few days, in order to compensate my carelessness, i bought 2 set original focal k2p uv, certified by singapore dealer for comparison, and below are my findings:
1. The surface of composite sandwich cone, fake one are little bit rough, and the real one seems got a layer of transparent thingy covering it, feel smoother, please view the pic for differences. Fake one has relatively bright yellow color cone but real one are dim yellow color, due to quality of pics, you might not be able to see clearly.

2. The inner circle design of tweeter, Real one patterns is "vvvvvvvvvvvvv" whereas fake one is weird shape. Also, fake one tioxid's area are shallow compare to Real and light grey in colour, however real one are darker.

3. There are more clues in crossover:
a) Adjustable tweeter level, Real one are firm and close to each button (-1db,-2db,-4db) upper part are same size as bottom part, but fake one has big gap between buttons, and the bottom part are bigger than button obviously, last but not least, they are shaky!
b) Adjustable midrange level, Real one's switch are firm, it snapped accurately either left-mid high or right-mid flat, whereas fake has freeplay, it can stopped in between.
c) I have seen 4 set of k2p uv so far, all of them using black colour cable to hold coil, there will be only one big glue behind adjustable tweeter level buttoms. Fake one sometimes use white colour cable, and the coil was messy glued. Real one has brighter bronze color, and the fake looks like oxidized, darker...
d) The wording on bottom left, Real one "FOCAL" each alphabet are close to each other, but fake one got bigger gap
There are more tiny tiny spot, but i guess this should be enough to differentiate which one is fake...
