i think it's the vifa. u can't get hard thumping bass from most home audio speakers, not from scan revelator or vifa, not sure if audax and SEAS can do better. it's all abt personal taste, if u like soft smooth bass, scan and vifa might be ur choice. if hard thumping bass, brax matrix and AD MM or vipera is quite a gud choice.

hi kelkel1688 ...  /77

you know , you have a reasonabe audio decent system .
probable with some help from a mentor in setting up the system .
in fact ,  this system should be able to deliver acceptable
musical satisfaction .

obviously ... you are not sonically fulfilled    /76

may i suggest that you play some modern and classical jazz cds .
modern jazz uses amplified bass guitar . classical jazz with double
bass , no amplification is involved . if the system is able to accurately
capture the true nature of these two instruments , you should not
worry too much . and if it is in the opposite , there is always the
opportunity to rectify by tuning . by the way , that opportunity could
be pure frustration as well ...   /72

however , you could marginalised your frustration by merely playing
your preference music . which means the audio system accurately
capture the preference music , not with non-amplified double bass .

it is your call ... preference music ...  /144

don't you wish to achieve accuracy with the double bass as well ?

soft? crank up the gain /53

few ques to ask

(i) Have u done amp scoping? if no, do it. if yes, whats the rough power going into the midbass?
(ii) Does ur system suffers from phase cancellation?
(iii) whats ur crossover point?
