Budget Setup on Honda City
« on: June 19, 2009, 05:14:41 AM »
So i should start off wit wat i have...

Original Kenwood HU of Honda City 2007
6.5" CDT Audio CL61 running passive powered by
Precision Power PPI-4200AM

so i has a 12" Lanzar sub in a ported box which i plan 2 bridge the other 2 left over chn to power tis sub...i have yet 2 install the sub
currently the sound is so far so good...used some blue tack 2 place my tweeters...passanger side tweets facing my side n driver side tweets facing passengers window

i can hear the different instrument playing on either left side o the right side of the speakers but i still can get the singer to be sort of be at the middle of my dash...can any 1 teach me how 2 tune tat?

so my next step i guess is to look for a better HU...so wats after tat? i dunwan 2 spend too much since i wan 2 prove my fren i have better setup
by getting nice 2nd unit and wit some nice tuning...about tuning...since its running passive..is there any other way 2 tune the sound other than hu? the ori hu onli has bass/mid/high

i used to have pioneer 8650,4chn phoenix gold octane r,avantgarde valarie 6.5,jbl 1200.1 monoblock and lanzar 12"
thiefs broke into my old car n took everything xcept the lanzar 12" sub...guess it was heavy

so any advice on how i can improve the sound of my system witout burning a hole in my pocket?
i saw a 9650 2nd unit up 4 sale...sound wise...is there much diff than my previous 8650? since my old 8650 can run active,6.5volt and has time alignment
i guess 9650 should b not bad...any other reckon?

Wow thiefs broke into your car and stole all this ?

pioneer 8650,4chn phoenix gold octane r,avantgarde valarie 6.5,jbl 1200.1 monoblock

now I'm worried about mine.

it must be the bling bling HU which attracted them in the first place ?

for me I try to find something not so bling bling but sounds nice.

I think proper speaker placement + tuning could get the sound in the middle. A bit time consuming, hard to do and also may sacrifice cosmetics .. because speakers do change their sound in diff type of enclosures. so easier if you have something adjustable, maybe some pods these guys are selling

for me easiest way to use time alignment .. but most sifu here don't like to use that.

coz it kills the sound.

but for mine I set the time alignment then tune , re-adjust time alignment and re-tune until satisfied.

So if you turn it of .. might not be so nice anymore
