just wanna know which amp is better helix A6 or P400????
i suggest that you pay a visit to audio creations or "walk" around
to visit some of the "better" installers in town to ask/ inquire or
google what amplification is all about and what to look out for
when selecting an amplifier. because you'll always get different
replies when you ask a "better" question; especially when you are
not being specific.

i give you an example... you ask "why" to crazechild's reply - A6
and crazechild then demonstrate that A6 uses higher quality
components, power is measured better than P400 and all other
technical stuff. i then post... yes, A6 is constructed better but
i like the raw sound of the P400 and it is 20% (or whatever %)
cheaper. so, ahbell... is A6 "really" better?

and an audition is no "better" either - too many combinations.
plus what seems "better" is very subjective (described by netken
below).

i love about of characteristics or colouring like TRU, Sinfoni and Genesis .... to each its own - ....

3 days ago I did some minor upgrade/install/tuning for a Evo 9.
The car had the following item already install by reputable installer (not me):
1] DLS A4 amp
2] DLS Iridium 2-way
3] DLS 10" sub
4] Kenwood DVD 6039
5] Monster Cable 400 RCA
To my surprise, the amp was at almost full gain for the front comps and max gain(bridged) for sub on the A4.
Problem is that it wasnt loud and it was already clipping signal.
I thought it was a imitation DLS A4 but it had a NTC sticker on it.
Really created a doubt in me for the DLS amp.
Still trying to figure out what was wrong with this simple setup system.

carcrazy: anyway easy, just take the amp out and try it elsewhere.

my guess is the kenwood player. rated 2v preout, probably much less.

the A7 needs 0.3v minimum which is pretty high and comparable to the gain structure of brax and tru billet.

well...... power is 1 thing, the quality is another issue....
sometimes, the more powerful amp doesn't mean that it sounds better than the less power ones.....

but...there's another school who says power is power, the more the better...

see which one you want to follow :D
