Let this more like FAQ thread for VIFA users, guys who are deciding to get this babies.  /78

Vifa PL18WO09-04 PREMIUM LINE 7" Woofer + Vifa XT25TG30-04 1" Ring Radiator Tweeter

+

VS

Vifa P17 6.5" + Vifa XT25TG30-04 1" Ring Radiator Tweeter

*Pictures are just for reference.

From this above 2 models of drivers, which is better ?

1) Is 6.5" or 7" better ?
2) Which in terms of quality is more detail, clear, better staging ?
3) Which will produce better bass 6.5" or the 7" ?
4) Any other comments for those who are using it or have audition it before.... please write review. (Much appreciated)
5) Tuning information ? Frequency, Hz, DB slopes, freq cut off, for ACTIVE setup users please share.

Lets share...

ummm..... ok. From what I heard:
PL18 will give you harder midbass for a vocals trade off. i.e. midbass dem kao but vocals less chun. P17 terbalik. Thats because PL18 is better suited to a 3way system where you have a midrange to take care of the vocal freqs.

We don't reply merely for a simple reason. Drivers like Scanspeak or Vifa are very low distortion drivers that do not have any character of their own. They make the best of what the system sounds like in the first place.

So, if the system does not sound good in the first place, replacing with a vifa or scanspeak driver will probably reveal how terrible or crappy it is (and some ding-dongs will blame it on the drivers) or in short, sound even worst! If you replace the drivers into a normal and average sounding system that still lacks a lot of bells and whistles, the system will just sound as very normal as it can be. However, if you replace this drivers into a system that sound really good, will make it shine even further or in short, makes the best (better) out of what the system is.

In short, Vifa and Scans are not plug and play drivers. You see them used in highly regarded and even very expensive home loudspeakers but they sound different in all of them. It depends on how the foundation is built around this marvelous low distortion tranducers, be it the mounting and enclosures, the crossover quality etc.

So, if you wish to know how to make the best use of Vifa or Scanspeak drivers, come look for us. :)
