What's the difference between dry cell and acid based battery?
« on: September 22, 2007, 09:41:00 AM »
Hi, what's the difference between the dry cell and conventional acid based battery? Besides, the higher price and longer life span, is there other benefits like higher amperage per hour? As far as I know, a conventional NS60 battery has a reserve capacity of 45 ampere per hour. So how does a dry cell battery like the Optimas perform??

I am looking forward to change my battery to the NS60 from the NS40. However, I am afraid my alternator couldn't cope with it as the alternator is rated at 47ampere only. Do you think the alternator can cope as some sifus said the alternator must be able to generate higher power than the battery, otherwise the battery will face inadequate charging problems. Should I move forward? All the sifus guidance is highly appreciated /168
